Disney Books

I found about five of these books one day walking around goodwill. The book section is always the first place I go. I saw them and  fell in love with the big beautiful pictures. I had to have them all. For 50 cents a piece I didn't mind. I brought them home and the kids fell in love with them as well. It takes us about three nights to get through one book. Way better than watching the movies:)

The house will be quiet and I start to get nervous... So I run into the kids room and there they are reading books... when I catch them like this my heart melts!

Ember usually grabs Snow White. Mother like daughter I guess. She happens to be my favorite princess as well. Ty loves Hercules. He likes the "Scary guy" Hades scares me but Ty says he is funny... So its all good! Now I am determined to find them all.. O I only have about fifteen more to thrift. Better get looking!

What M's reading, wearing and doing....

This adorable outfit was a gift to Ember from her Aunt Heather. I believe she gave one similar to Allie and will most likely give one to Baby Hardy who is well on her way and should be here in a few weeks. Thanks Heather for always making sure my babies are stylin:)

Can you believe Ember in one? I can't. She is growing and growing. Like most babies do right! She is surprising me so much. She learned to walk with in a day. She started and just didn't stop. No fear. She walks all over the house. Not really stopping to play, just walking walking walking. You can see the look in her eye of how proud of herself she is. Her appetite is getting smaller. She use to eat adult size bowls of food and still want more. Now she may finish half and be done. Eating a little bit more often is her new schedule. She still is the worlds best sleeper. She wakes up around 8:00 then takes a nap from 12-3 and back to bed at 7:30 with out waking up all night! She loves to put herself to sleep. As long as I lay her down at those times she plays in bed tell she is tired and eventually falls asleep. As soon as she wakes up she plays in her crib tell Ty or I hears her moving around. Ty runs in and climbs into bed with her. They play tell usually someone starts crying. 

M got this new book for her birthday from Grandma Whetman. She adores the flaps. Ill have her sit on my lap and read it, when we look in the flaps she laughs...not a cute little soft laugh but a loud laugh. A laugh of  "O my gosh, he's not in the box!!!" Its adorable. She melts my heart. I love to hand her the books and just watch her look and learn. We also practice pointing at things...(thanks mom for the tip). We sit and point to the objects in the book. Its good hand eye coordination. I'll say "Lets point to the doggy" then the next time ill ask her to point to the doggy. She has caught on fast and loves to play! If she points to the wrong thing and I say "no, try again" she laughs and will keep trying. Sometimes I think she points to the wrong thing to be funny! Silly kid.

That's not my Polar Bear -What we're reading-

One of the many many many reasons I love Miss Ember is that she loves to play in her crib for awhile after she wakes up and play. She plays with her dolly or caterpillar and even looks at her books. 

My favorite books for her age are the touch and feel books. Each page on this book has spots to feel new textures. Its pretty adorable and fun.

Helps babies develop language and sensory skills.

This was actually a gift we received on Tys baby shower from my Aunt Trish. He loved it, Ember loves it and im sure all of our future kids will adore it!

Let's Go to the Farm - What we're reading -

Ty has shown an interest in books.  Running over to the shelf and pulling them all off then running back to me with three in hand wanting to flip through them. Sometimes he want to look at each page carefully and study the pictures while other times he wants to flip through all the pages as fast as he can so he can get another book. Ty is also a snuggler. He loves to sit on my lap while I read to him for what seams like hours. 

 

Lately I catch him taking his own interest in books with out me. I will find him laying on the floor flipping through them all on his own. His favorites have been these farm books given to him by his Grandma Whetman. He likes to study the tractors on the pages. I hear him talking to himself saying "this one Heather drives, this one Papa, this one Justin, this one Wade." I think its safe to say he misses the tractors. 

The other book is a flap book. Those are the best! Not when I want to sit down and read to him because he is too interested in the flaps but for his own entertainment. He can lay down and flip them up and down for an hour just so curious about each one. 

I also catch Ty reading to himself. It sounds something like this "yooooweee yoweee yoweeee, ummm yoweee yoweee"

Too dang cute for me to handle.
 

Most of our reading is done early morning in our pajamas or before bed in our pajamas.

I love that these books can bring a little bit of my family to life. I love that Ty remembers the farm when looking at the pictures. Riding the tractors, feeding the goats, the horses, hay and trucks. 

There is not much sweeter than a child and their books.
