Three kids

I read an article the other day talking about how three kids is easier than two. I couldn't agree more. For me personally at least. I felt it took the words right out of my mouth. First off it mentions that you finally believe "this too shall pass" I have been a mother long enough to know now that kids have phases. If it's a bad one you work through it and know you'll survive, if it's a good one you hold on to them and cherish every moment. The sleepless nights pass, teething, diaper blowouts, sneaking into your bed at night, kicking and screaming in the grocery store aisles, the pushing. It all passes. You teach them and try to find a way to discipline that works for both child and you. But the great things pass to. Holding them swaddled in your arms, the soft coos in the bassinet next to you all night, learning to talk and trying to make out what they say. I could go on forever with all the things the kids do I will miss so much when they stop. I know now how fast it can go and wanting to soak up every second.

Also when I had Ember, Ty wasn't even two yet. He still needed so much of my attention. Don't get me wrong I loved being a mother of two and cherish those memories dearly. They both just needed my 100%. I wanted so badly to give them  both that 100% but I struggled trying to find a way to keep them both happy and keep my sanity. It took a lot out of me physically and emotionally. I just learned to take a lot of deep breaths and hold them close. However with our third, now  Ty is five and Ember is three. They play so well together and can do a few things on their own. They are both potty trained, can get dressed by themselves and Ty can even make his lunch. Now most days I still get Ember dressed but Ty loves to do it himself and I usually always make their lunch but there are those days when we are running late or I need help and ask Ty to make he and Ember lunch. He puts together pb&j sandwiches, crackers, banana and some fruit snacks. It's truly such a help to have both my "big helpers" around. They both love to help bath Aiden, get his diapers, pick out his clothes and snuggle him. Ty often holds Aiden while I vacuum, make dinner or shower.

I also think once you have a child you can't imagine life with out them. From the first moment you hold them in your arms... that's it, life has changed. You change. That little baby is now apart of you. So no matter how hard things get or how dirty your house is... you can still sit down and hold your sweet baby and watch your big kids play and feel blessed beyond imagination to have them.

I no longer believe that there are "good days and bad" as a mother. Every day has good and bad in it. For me me its "good and bad moments" even if Ty and Ember are screaming or Ember refuses to get dressed and we are late for wherever it is we're suppose to be, they still hug and kiss me through the day and say "love you mama" ❤️ Or even if we're playing a game as a family and they start to fight over who is the winner or who gets what we're still sitting around together playing and making memories. There is also absolutely nothing sweeter to me than tucking my kids in at night, kissing their sweet cheeks and hearing them say goodnight mama. Then sneaking in their room after they have fallen asleep just to watch them breath.

BECAUSE OF HIM

A lot of really wonderful things have been happening around here.
I have really been feeling Gods love in my life.
Feeling closer to my Savior Jesus Christ.

Guided to friends.
Finding opportunities to help others.

I have been feeling like a better mom.
A better wife
and a better friend.

I have been making it a priority to read my scriptures.
Not just read tho.
but study.

Really paying attention to the story
trying to find the lesson behind everything.
Asking myself questions.

I have been making my prayers more personal.
Feeling closer to my Heavenly Father allows me
to open up more.
Pour my heart out to him.
Not only for answers but also in gratitude.

Thanking him for my life
for all of the countless blessings I receive.
Thanking him for the trials he allows me to have
that he knows will make me a better me.

Life is good.
God is good.

Because of Him I know that there is meaning to this life.
I know that I can turn to him through anything.
I know that it is him who has blessed me with all that I have.

Whats new..

Yes, Ty is potty trained.. !! YAY he is doing so well. We celebrated with Mc Donald's. Great Grandma Shirley sent up a gift card and told us to use it when he was ready!! So we did!

I have this massive problem...No seriously I do. I can't stop rearranging our furniture. I am out of control. I have to vacuum under the couch often and when I do I move the couches around and end up getting an idea of what I might like.. One day I will find the perfect spot for everything. Plus the kids love the change. .

Mom came to visit. We had a blast and I miss her terribly. You could say she is my best friend! I think the kids might miss her a little too;)

We watched LDS conference. So perfect and much needed spiritual uplift.

Missing the family means a lot of facetime... Even for the babies.

Park dates and selfies...

Feeling blessed with the love and support I have received from friends, family and strangers with my new shop! It has been a dream of mine to create this for years. I have had the name picked out and everything just waiting for the courage to do it...

What I needed to hear. The push that changed my heart.

some days

Some days you just need a good cry.. The last two days have been emotional ones. really emotional ones. The kids and I went for a nice long walk this morning to clear my head. Ty came home with a couple pockets full of rocks. When we get rocks....we have to paint them. These rocks Ty says are for Jenna.. (my bf//his girlfriend lol). It was just before lunch when we got back and I had about twenty minutes to figure out what to make for lunch before Jayson got home. Its not hard to decide when you have three ingredients in your fridge. So while I whipped up some ramen and toast the kids got to paint their new rocks. They were in heaven and I enjoyed a few minutes of peace while getting lunch together. Soon Jayson came home and knew just what to say to make me smile.

some days are hard...
some days//most days I really miss my family.
some days you just gotta have a good cry, paint some rocks and know it will all be ok.

joy

You know those days you don't normally blog about. The hard days. Days where your kids cry and wine. You lose your temper... and get frustrated faster then normal. That day was today. I felt like a bad mom. I didn't want to play or read books. I was so frustrated with them both.

Then I just decided we all needed a nap. I grabbed Ember and Ty under my arms and went to the chair to rock. I was hoping to sit there long enough just to calm us all down. We ended up being there for an hour. Ty was telling us stories and Ember kept putting her caterpillar up to my nose and smiling. I was in heaven.

I had the thought cross my mind of how lucky I am to stay at home and raise my babies.

Having hard moment is ok. but with kids I am convinced there are never bad days.... just moments. You may have a lot of hard moments in one day but there is always joy in that day as well. My kids can drive me crazy one day but in that same day they still melt my heart. Ty still says "love you mama" and Ember still gives me big bear hugs and waddles around the house with her caterpillar. The good always out weighs the bad.

 find the joy.

Ty-isms

I went and got a cookie out...
Ty asks "mommy, i want one..."
I pull it apart and give him half...
He says "ugh...not half a cookie"

Were witting in the living room. Just playing.
Ty looks around and says "yeah...i really like our house. its nice"
I said " yeah i like it too ty"
Ty "yeah...lets keep it"

Trains and things

I love being a mother. I love watching my babies grow and find their own interests. Ty and his trains has my heart. He loves watching them go round and round. He loves building new tracks and ways for them to cross. His whole face lights up when we play trains. It's like he is in his own world.

The best thing is being a mother of siblings. The joy I feel while watching them play together overwhelms me. They are siblings so naturally they have their moments. Ty will take her toys and run away laughing. Or Ember will walk through Tys train set and think she is funny. (Causing her new nickname to be Ember-Zilla) But still they laugh together... They want chocolate milk together and they love sitting next to each other for an episode of Daniel Tigers Neighborhood. She holds her dolls and caterpillars and he has Thomas in one hand and a toy hammer in the other.

Eat together, play together, bath together, cry together and sometimes when Im lucky nap together.

The love I have for my children is endless and the love I see they have for each other is beautiful!

Having one child is hard. I remember while being pregnant saying " I have never been so happy to be so miserable" With that being said I keep feeling like its time for us to have another baby. Is that because half my friends are pregnant? Or my sister is.... My sister in law might be soon? Is it because Ember is getting older and I don't want the age gap to be to big??

I want to have a baby because its the right time for my family. Not because I am "baby hungry" Not because I am seeing all these adorable new babies blowing up my instagram feed. Or because holding my new niece Macie over the Christmas break made me want to steal her in the night... (kidding. kinda). I want it to be right. But how do you know when that is?

Making all things in life a matter of prayer. Maybe it will be next month, maybe in a few months, maybe next year. All I know is my life is good and I love my babies with my whole heart. I know I want more..lots more. But I also know I have time and I know I need to wait for the right time.

comfort

Linking up today with The Growing Tree for my Husband Rocks linky.

Topic: a time when your husband helped you through a difficult point in your life, or how he supports you when you're having a bad day!

After thinking about this for a while I realized Jayson and I have been very fortunate in not having any major difficult times. I am sure we will have many however in our three years of being married we have been very blessed with healthy kids and family, good finances, a roof over our head and food in our tummies.

Jayson does support me through everything though. The most memorable moment I have of my true love for Jayson besides looking into his eyes while we promised to be each others for eternity was when we were having Ty. I was in labor for a really really long time. I was worn both physically and mentally. I thought there was no way I was going to live through the delivery. Sounds a bit dramatic I know but I was scared. Jayson was always right there. He said so many positive and heart warming things that made my heart swell. The moment Ty came out the first thing I saw was Jaysons face. I remember thinking that I could never have done this with out his support. I saw him look at Ty and saw true love in his eyes. Then he looked over at me and we just smiled at each other for a second. He kissed my forehead and told me he was so proud of me. I knew then that no matter how hard things got Jayson would always be at my side.

Since then I have had a lot of times where I needed his help on day to day things. After having Ty I was in heaven. I always knew I wanted to be a wife and mommy. To nurture and protect my family. After staying at home for a time I soon realized I also missed my busy life style. I missed being in a salon all day visiting women and feeling like I made a difference in others lives. I had always had amazing clients. Ones who would come in and tell me everything on their hearts. I missed communicating with adults. I missed making women feel better about themselves. The look on their face when I turned the chair around. Pure happiness.

I never once thought that I regretted starting our family so soon. I just felt like I lost a little bit of myself. I lost the energetic talkative spontaneous girl I was. My family use to joke about how friendly I was. They would say I could become best friends with a rock. I had a way of talking with someone and finding something we were both passionate about. I never felt awkward talking to knew people or being in difficult situatons.

I felt like being home all day with a baby made me weird. I soon lost that talent of being a people person. I lost being able to communicate with others easily. When I realized this I had a hard time excepting it. I cried to Jayson telling him that I thought I was weird. Of course while crying in his arms he was not about to admit to me that he agreed. He simply hugged me and supported me.

He talked to me about finding things I can do that was not just for Ty. Some new things I could do. Discovering new talents. I knew I loved being at home with Ty. I knew I was happy...just something was off. Jayson soon realized how much joy I was having making things for Ty. That I was making things for our house. I was sewing, cooking, writing...He also knew how much I enjoyed blogging.

He started really encouraging me in blogging. He saw that it gave me something to do to feel good about myself. I could share the things I loved the most in my life. Number one my family. I could share my story. I could write anything and everything I wanted. Sharing things I made or activities we do. I was meeting new friends who were going through similar things. I was happy.

Jayson helped me find a passion and is my biggest supporter. I may not be a social butterfly anymore and maybe I am awkward and shy around people when I actually get out of the house now.

Especially with Ember here now. Having two kids means a lot more time focused on them and their needs and less on my own. I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. Raising my babies and making sure they are protected and happy is my number one concern and joy.

I am so blessed to have Jayson in my life to pick me up when I am down. To tell me I am doing a good job with our babies. To have him thank me for cleaning the house or making dinner. For walking in while I am getting ready and telling me he has never seen something as lovely as me.

Being a mother is wonderful. I feel like its my calling in life. With out Jayson helping me through it...there is no way I would survive. He is a wonderful husband and father. Marriage is truly a partnership. One between man and women. To support each other and complement each other in strengths and weaknesses.

Everything I believe about marriage and family can be read here in the Proclamation to the World.

Currently & get 5dollars off add space

eating, drinking, wishing, loving
I am Currently
EATING- healthy healthy healthy. I have been going crazy with healthy snack ideas on pinterest!
DRINKING- Water and Diet Coke. That is about all I ever drink.
WISHING- For more good weather.
LOVING- That Jayson and I got a new TV. It was quite a story. To make it short we ordered a new 42" LCD from Wal mart. We did site to store and had to go pick it up in Hurricane. (about 45 min away from us) No big deal but my brother in law was driving through so he stopped to pick it up for us. When he brought it back it was oddly not in a box. I was like "uh what????" Called the store in Hurricane and talked to customer service. I guess they sold our TV so they gave us the display model...uh what??? Pretty sure those things run 24hrs a day and she said it had been on display for a year. They also forgot to send the remote and the manuals. I was pretty frustrated to say the least. I asked if we could return it to our local Wal Mart and they said yes. Jayson and I went down to return it. Before to long we had three managers around trying to figure out the problem. They felt so bad and were mad that it happened. So to sum this long story up....They hooked us up with a bigger nicer way cooler TV for no extra charge. Now we have a 46" LED with internet connection. Yup, definitely loving that!
