Our heart day

 The kids woke up to their felt boards... Even though Ty found his the night before and played with it most of the night. little stinker. He was still excited! He kept calling it his "valentime". Its still his "valentime" and not a felt board. Ember loves hers... Most the object get put on crazy and she giggles...i love it.

 We read a few love stories and made delicious cookies. We had a pretty chill day!

Ty's little play group! They are so adorable and have so much fun together:) Ah, I can't get over the cuteness there.

Its easy being a fun mom when you had a fun mom to show you how. I remember doing half the things I do with my kids with my mom.. Thanks mama.

Ember has been surprising me lately. She will wake up in the middle of the night and my Miss Independent wont go back to sleep unless I go sit next to her. She grips right on to my fingers like she did when she was a newborn. Last night I probably sat with her for a half hour before she fell back asleep. I love that she needs that little bit of comfort. . . and I am definitely more than happy to give it to my little sweetie.

I wanted to hang the felt boards low enough for the kids to play with them so I moved the toy shelves together to open up the wall for the felt boards. Im really happy with the way it turned out. Its very busy but very fun. The kids have endless hours of play in there.

Miss Embers:

I have been wanting to make the kids some felt boards for a while. I finally got around to it and decided to make them for Valentines.

I wanted hers to be bright and colorful! The inspiration for the houses came from here. I am in love with the way it turned out. I am dying to see her face... Only a few more days.

It will most likely will end up looking like the third one with houses on the street and cars in the air... That's OK!

I have seen felt boards before where nothing was glued together. All the pieced were separate. I like the idea.. I just think Ember is still too small for that so I glued all the houses, cars and trees together but she can still move them around how ever she wants.

The only thing glued down is the hills and the road.

EEkkk.. Excited for her to play with it!

Tyger's

Ty has been loving Dinosaurs lately... We watch a lot of Dinosaur Train on Netflix. I can't wait to see his face... Ty's needs a lot more pieces. I plan to make him a few more dinosaurs and trees. The good thing about the felt boards is you can add as many pieces as you want! 

He can name a lot of the dinosaurs when he is watching the show... hopefully he can recognize these ones. My artistic ability is slightly lacking.

hopefully the kids like them... These ones are small enough to hang up or tuck under the bed.. if they do like them ill probably make one more really big one to stay hung up on their wall low enough for them to play with.

I used an old canvas for Embers and a cork board I had laying in the closet for Ty's. All the small felt pieces I had on hand. The big felt pieces I got at Joann's with a 50% off coupon. Then a little hot glue and thats all the supplies needed. O and a little fabric paint for the dino faces.

The best projects are the ones you can whip together with stuff you already have on hand!

Ty has been talking to his toy Dustie as if he is real. It is truly amazing to see his imagination take off. He asks Dustie (the plane from the movie "Planes" lol)

He says:
"Dustie, you want to come in my pocket"
"You go to the grocery store with us"
"Dustie how do you fly, teach me"

He got the "orange Dustie" for Christmas. I couldn't help but get him the "black Dustie". He asked so nice and was so sweet about it.

"Thanks mom for getting black Dustie...My love him"
"I have two Dusties. They are friends"

Kinda old news.... but I finally did it. After saying I was going to go darker for MONTHS. I just did it! Its crazy. I was so blonde for the last four years it has taken me some time to get use to the dark again. I think I will keep it for as long as we will be in Colorado... Another four years.. Then go blonde again. Its definitely fun to change it up but I can't tell what I like better. For me it seems to be all or nothing. No blonde with brown low lights.. No light brown or brown with blonde high lights. I don't know why... 

Miss Ember has got almost all her teeth. I still feel like she is pretty little to be getting all those molars. I know she hurts. She has needed A LOT of extra attention lately. I don't mind the extra snuggles one bit... They are wonderful... but the tears and tantrums are hard. Poor girl hope they all just come in and stop bothering her!!

I have to say... I miss my family already. I am thinking they need to fly out and see me soon. I know the kids miss them so much!! --hint hint--
