Our weekend

I wanted to take a few pictures of Ember in her thrifted dress. She was in an exceptionally good mood so I hurried and got the camera out to start snapping. As soon as Ty jumped in she was so mad. Usually she loves it and I get darling pictures of the two of them. Guess she just needed a diva moment.

Embers entire outfit was thrifted.
Total cost $1.25

SACOS

Jayson had Friday off work so we thought we would take the kids to the aquatic center. They both had a blast. We stayed for what seemed like forever....two hours.
We were all so tired. The kids fell asleep at 7:00pm and slept tell 8:30am. We definitely all got some good sleep. Maybe we should go swimming more often!

I have been receiving a lot of emails asking where I get the Indian jewelry I wear so often. I wish I could point you in the right direction. My mother use to buy all sorts of jewelry from a nice Indian lady who would come to our house and sell it. I loved it then and love it now. I have about five or six pieces still. If you know of a cute shop or etsy who sells stuff like this I would like to know and could direct some readers there.

Saturday we went to the park. It's about a five minute walk from our house so we go almost every day. The kids love the weeees (swings).

O the leg rolls....MY MOST FAVORITE!!!

and our new TV. Its huge. Its taken me some getting use to. The picture is almost too realistic for me right now but I know I will love it! The decorating needs some work but we just sat it up so this will do for now.

She is too cute for words.

 The before and after.
I love spice racks. I love the way they look and I love now that they are up I am reminded to actually use my spices more.

Some of the process. Plus a little spray paint and sand paper!! Thrifted the shelf for .25 and had the tools, sandpaper, and spray paint on hand :) not bad, not bad at all!

Day 4

Day 4 of Blog Every Day In May
Favorite quote (from a person, from a book, etc)

I pick three.

Wherefore be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you.
Jesus

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery.
Today? Today is a gift.
That’s why we call it the present.

I love this quote so much. So much in fact you can see my post here where I put it in my living room.

Uncomfortable

Day 3 of the the Challenge is "things that make you uncomfortable."

Um. The list may get long. In no particular order.

Seriously when people stand close to me in line. I just want to turn around and yell "breathing down my back is not going to get you done any faster". This most makes me uncomfortable at the grocery store. When all my groceries, toiletries and personal items are out...The weird lady standing behind me staring at everything like she is taking inventory. Awkward and not cool.

Hearing myself on video.  "Is that really what my voice sounds like?" Then I cry inside.

When people see my laundry.

The dirty scenes. Movies are getting really bad. Jayson and I find ourselves turning off PG-13 movies. Awkward. Geez if there is someone in the room other than me and Jayson I want to crawl under a rock.

Rude People.  I went on a date once....Before I met Mr. Right. This guy (wont even call him a man) took me to a really nice restaurant. Laughed, exchanged stories, flirted a little. As soon as our waiter came out he was a complete (A) word. I was shocked. When our waiter left this guy started talking to me with no hesitation. Like nothing he had done was wrong. I wish I could say I threw my cup of water in his face. I didn't. However I did tell him I was no longer interested (in probably not the nicest way and I would not dare to repeat now) and left before our food got out.

Salesman. Not in a store. Then I love them. I was one. I love being talked to and helped with finding things. However when they come to my house I get ridiculously uncomfortable. I can't even let them in. If I want the product I will go out and get it. I don't need you to come to me. Making me feel bad by telling me if I don't buy said product you wont get your Las Vegas get away. I really don't feel bad for you.

Looking at my veins. OR talking about blood. I can't even type about it. I get the MOST uncomfortable ever. If someone starts talking about it I have to leave or go to my happy place. I WILL PASS OUT OR VOMIT. Yes, this made having babies hard. I had a anxiety attack before every appointment. Even worse than getting blood taken is getting an IV. If possible I would prefer to be put asleep for this but I have yet to meet a doctor who would knock me out for an IV.

Being overdressed for something. The only thing worse is being underdressed

TALKING POLITICS My opinion is very different than so many around me. Most of the people I talk to have no interest in what I or anyone else has to say on the matter. What they think is right and you are dumb if you do not agree. I have given up so many times because I am completely shut down. I DO NOT like confrontation. I  just tend to awkwardly leave the room.

While pregnant if ANYONE other than family touches my belly. Family is fine and encouraged. Strangers stay away.

Wanting to fix my makeup in a public restroom. I feel conceited but I really do just want to know if I have food in my teeth or my hair is sticking straight up.

What makes you uncomfortable?

what am i good at?

Pondering for a while nothing came to mind. I am not trying to put myself down. You see I just feel like I am moderately good at many things but not especially good at one. Nothing I feel I could educate anyone on. So I asked a few people what they thought I was good at. I got a few "making cute babies". As sweet and funny as that was I could not find a way to talk about it on here. A few people said things like sewing or crafting. Again I feel moderately good at these things.

When I asked my husband he told me the answer I was looking for.

"You are really good at being happy"

I do think I am good at being happy. I will share a few ways I know how to make sure I have a happy day.

#1 Wake up early. For me there is nothing worse then sleeping in and missing half the day. The days I sleep in seem to always be non productive and I tend to get grouchy.

#2 Say a morning prayer. I love morning prayers because to me they are so different then night prayers. In the morning I tend to pray in gratitude. Thanking my Heavenly Father for all the wonderful things in my life. Thanking for everything I can think of. I always am in a good mood when I am reminding myself of all my blessings.

#3 Get ready. Yes even if I am not going anywhere for the day and the only people who are going to be seeing me are the Mr. and the littles I still do my hair, put make-up on and get dressed. Well sometimes I put a nice shirt on and wear PJ pants...weird I know. but I always feel happy when I feel good about the way I look.

#4 Eat breakfast as a family. The very best days always start when myself and the kids are all awake before Jayson goes to work and we eat breakfast together.

#5 Play with my kids. Really play. Get down and play cars, steal each others noses, tickle, jump on the bed. Anything as long as it is true fun.

#6 Read my scriptures. The peace I feel is indescribable.

#7 Kiss the Mr. as many times as possible.

#8 Say I love you as many times as possible. I am a firm believer that you can not tell your loved ones too much. If you feel it, say it.

#9 Eat dinner together around the table and talk about your day. Even if it was bad. Talking together can make it way better and maybe you can even find something to laugh about. For instance its much easier to laugh with Jayson about Tys insane melt down in the grocery store. That I left a cart full of food in the aisle with Ty screaming and yelling "No mommy" on my hip while Ember is on the other hip fussing because Ty is freaking out. (yes that has happened more than once). You have to laugh after.

#10 Expect there to be bad moments. I have learned with a toddler that there will be tantrums through out the day that I just can't control. I use to feel helpless and like I was failing as a mother. I have learned that Ty is not naughty, that im not a bad mom and that it happens. I try to go into the day expecting it sooner or later. So when it does I can handle it and remain calm.

#11 Brush your teeth and Wash your face. I actually like to just shower before bed. I use to not do this tell I got married. Jayson always does so I started too. It feels so good to go to bed clean and refreshed.

#12 Stretch. Your body will thank you for this. Not only will you sleep better but feel better through out the day.

#13 Drink lots of water.

#14 Smile a lot. Even if your not happy. Try to be. Think of happy things. Having a positive attitude is contagious. If you think it enough it will happen.

#15 Go to bed happy. Think of things in your life you love. Think of things you are grateful for. Things that make you smile. Fall asleep thinking about them.

I think the most important thing to do to be able to be happy is try to make others happy as well. Think of others and how they are feeling. If you can make someone smile you wont be able to stop.
