JOHN DEERE cookies

Have you ever made something you thought was so  cute you could do a cartwheel??
well....although I can NOT take full credit...my idea was
fully inspired by bakerella. I still thought theese babies up
and am SO proud of them.

I did the same exact recipe and instructions as on bakerella.
EXCEPT however I swaped out the pink m&m's
for JOHN DEERE green and yellow!

on the site she has printables for the recipe and the cowboy/girl cards.
I used one for the recipe and made up
my own sweet JOHN DEERE cookies tie on.

She mentioned to use the SMOOTH ball jars expecially for crafting!
The ones with no embeloshed logos in the glass.

Bakerellas RECIPE:

1 1/3 cup all purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup & leveled
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
3/4 cup m&ms
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 – 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Add
1 slightly beaten egg
1/2 cup butter (melted slightly in the microwave)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
Use the back of a large spoon to work it all together.
You may even need to use your hands to get everything incorporated.

TO MAKE JAR:

Start with a 1 quart smooth Ball jar.

Layer the ingredients in like this:
First: flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Second: oats
Third: m&ms
Fourth: chocolate chips
Fifth: brown sugar
Sixth: white sugar
Seventh: chopped pecans

Pack each level down really tightly..

If you want the print out fot the recipie card
...or better instructions go to bakerella..

LOVE THEM!!!

HOPE YOU ENJOY

mothers day is coming up:)

 MOTHERS DAY IS ALMOST HERE

 moth·er

Verb: Bring up (a child) with care and affection.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.
She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.
A mother is something absolutely new.

One of the best days of my life.
(aside to marrying this cuties daddy)
Ty is the greatest blessing to us.
I love him with all my heart.

1. Are you a mom and if so how many kids do you have?
yes! I have one baby boy who is 5 months old:)

2. List  qualities that you love about your mom!
My mother is so  hardworking, creative, loving, sweet,
patient, kind, supportive, understanding...my best friend.

3. What is your favorite thing your mother cooks?

 DUH her macaroni salad:) mmmm!

Everything Mom
How did you find the energy, Mom

To do all the things you did,

To be teacher, nurse and counselor

To me, when I was a kid.

How did you do it all, Mom,

Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,

Yet find time to be a playmate,

I just can’t comprehend.

I see now it was love, Mom

That made you come whenever I'd call,

Your inexhaustible love, Mom

And I thank you for it all.

By Joanna Fuchs

I also love my mommy very much. She is truly a best friend to me.
I hope to someday be as good of a mother to my children
as she is to me:)
LOVE YOU MOMMY
to the moon and back

4. What do you love about being a mom?
holding my baby, rocking him to sleep.

5. What are your plans for Mother's day?
spend time with family.

rag burp cloths

I have a TON of prego friends right now... and I got to thinking that
I cant afford to buy them all something big or even an outfit...
so I got a couple yards of flannel material and decided
on some burp cloths for them all..That was one of my most favorite
gifts I received at my baby shower...and honesty the ones I use most...
I made a few different sizes. guess it just depends on
how much spit up you need to clean up..hehe
and yes...I do wear lime green socks!

I didn't do pictures of the process on these, cause honestly I was not
even sure if they were going to turn out that well...
however I LOVE them and could not be
happier with the turn out.

on the girls I used a middle piece of just cream cheaper flannel...
most people like to use warm and natural, but I think it is
a bit pricey...so this worked fine.

I ran out of the middle layer by the time I got
to the boys, but I actually think I like them more.
I found that on my burp cloths that are similar to these
I have some that are two and some three layers....so
I guess its just preference.. both should do the trick

I sewed two rows around...that's how the ones I got
for my baby shower were...I'm not totally sure why.. I think
one row would work fine, but I like the look of it...
also on the larger ones there is a seam down the middle
I'm sure its so the material will stay nice..
plus that's where you put it on your shoulder..so it works!

I fell in love with them as soon as I started...so I kinda just kept going
and going.. They were so easy and didn't take long at all.
To go with these I will be making stuffed animal toys
to match...Ill post soon!
