EMBER IS...
worrying: That her brother is going to hug her to death
listening: To her baby mobile music, and mommy sing to her
wishing: She could see Nana and Papa Hardy this week
observing: everything
considering: getting her ears pierced
TY IS:
worrying: That the world may run out of chocolate
listening: To me sing him to sleep. His new favorite thing
wishing: He could eat all the chocolate he wants
observing: everything
considering: how to get more chocolate
ASHLEY IS:
worrying: About my love handles
listening: To conference talks I fell asleep through
wishing: I could sleep in
observing: My beautiful babies
considering: Coloring my hair brown

ReplyDeleteAshley,
ReplyDeleteWas searching for a GF's blog and came across yours. Enjoyed reading and had to laugh when I came to the post about EMBER is considering: getting her ears pierced. I had the same dilemma.
When I asked our ped for her opinion about having our dd’s ears pierced, she reached in her pocket and took out a picture of her six month little girl with pearls in each ear, saying,” …this is what I think.”
She encouraged me to go ahead and said it was best as an infant when mommy could care for them. I was totally relieved and without guilt when she said if they cry it is because of being restrained or the noise near their ears. I was convinced and ready to have it done.
Our ped said it was best when mommy can care for them. She gave me some tips for moms having their dd's ears pierced.
I'd say since your're thinking about it, then your mommy intuition is telling you now is best and I'd go ahead. Promise she'll thank you later for piercing her ears as an infant. Still unsure how she'd look? Hold some of your studs next to her ears in front of the mirror. Warning: she'll look very cute and adorable in her upcoming holiday pics.
If you'd like our ped's suggestions, write me an e-mail.
