Santa

This year the Whetman's requested... rubber snakes and makeup. Tys love for snakes is so cute. Maybe one day we will get a real one! 😳 Ember as always wants anything girly. Makeup and nail polish are at the top of her list and Aiden just wanted mommy back!

So happy we get to see Santa every year. I will always remember the kids excitement as we wait for him to arrive.

Christmas time

I can't put into words how happy I am to have Jayson home and done with his rotations away from us. I honestly don't think I have left his side in days!

Grinchy Christmas

We watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas a few times a week so when I saw this healthy Grinch craft I knew it was a great FHE!

We made the treats and read the book. Then we discussed the true meaning of Christmas and what the Grinch learned throughout the book and his change of heart. We then watched the movie and ate our little snacks and snuggled down by the fire.

Oh Christmas tree

Christmas Eve

We had such a wonderful Christmas. Words can't express how full my heart is.

On Christmas Eve-eve we went to see Santa but he was super busy so the
sweetest Mrs. Claus talked with the kids, read them a story and promised them
Santa would be there Christmas Eve.

Christmas Eve came and Santa showed up! He read them another book and brought
them each a present.

It was so magical.

Christmas Day

Trains, dolls, books and boots... Christmas was full of fun new things. The best part was hanging out with our crazy family tho. Christmas Eve Ty was bouncing off the walls. The kids got to open their PJs and we all watched the Polar Express. Christmas morning was magic, pure magic.

I saw a quote that said

"I thought being a kid on Christmas was the best, turns out having kids is."

Im sure I saw it on pinterest or facebook but I couldn't agree more. I love my babies so much and I loved seeing them light up with the magic of Christmas.

Christmas

This was our sorry excuse for a Christmas card. I actually love it! Im sure when Ty is older I can tease him about it! He wasn't really being naughty in this picture....he is just terrified of Santa.

So when you haven't seen your family for six months would you spend your vacation with them blogging or enjoying time together....? Time together??! Yes, thats what I went with. I did miss blogging...so here I am...back at it!! We had a wonderful Christmas. We spent FOUR weeks with our family. We were able to drive back and forth to see my family and Jaysons. I haven't really even looked at all my pictures from the trip.. As soon as I do I will post about our trip and tell all about it.

Hope your Christmas and New year was wonderful!

Maybe neither of my kids liked Santa this year..

graham cracker houses

First we gathered as much yummy stuff as we could possibly find. I didn't want to buy tons of small bags of candy because it was really adding up. So to keep it cheaper I bought one big bag of assorted candies. Then we used random things from the pantry... Marshmallows and pretzels just happened to be in there.

Ty started off pretty hesitant. He was looking at us like we were crazy for decorating crackers and ice cream cones. After a while he had tons of fun and made a pretty cute Christmas tree!

He also helped Dad build his house. Ty did all the pretzels and smarties.

To keep Ember entertained and happy we gave her a little frosting. Most of it ended up on her cheeks and not in her tummy. She was pretty happy playing with the cardboard and tinfoil too.

He was so proud of his Christmas Tree!

What a mess but it was lots of fun!

Christmas crafts

Found the idea here for these darling Christmas crafts.

Pretty sure when ever I bring out the paint Ty is in heaven! He gets so excited to make a mess. A large sheet comes in handy if you live in an apartment like we do and can't go right outside to a backyard. Or if its just too cold for outdoor painting. This sheet has been through a lot. I put it under me when dying my hair and under us for almost every craft project.

Although Ty was thrilled about this craft, Ember on the other hand....not so much.. She really hated the paint on her foot. I'm sure it was cold and she had no idea why I would be doing that to her. All she wanted to do was suck on the paint brush.. Not okay. So I gave her a string cheese to chew on while I was torturing her with paint on her foot and she calmed right down.

By the time we were done with the feet Ember was in no mood to do her hands. This was right before nap time so maybe ill try again after dinner when she is full and happy!

The only thing more fun than painting your feet is washing it off in the sink!

These are great to hang on the fridge.. I think I will frame the mistletoes and use it for decoration. I also plan on putting their name on the top of their toes with the date so I won't forget. Also a great thing to send to grandparents!!
