I disappeared, but now I'm back!

WHERE O WHERE HAS ASHLEY BEEN??!!

This last week was an emotional roller coaster. The beginning of the week started with Ty having a fever of 103...I took him to the doctor and they said he had another virus.. We took him home and he just laid on me for three days..just snuggled and slept. I'm sure part to do with all the medicine we were giving him.

Then Wednesday night we went to bed and I thought all was fine. I woke up in the middle of the night with terrible pains in my lower back and stomach. I couldn't move with the amount of pain. I tried laying on my sides, back, then I would walk around. Nothing helped I was BAWLING. Jayson didn't know what to do...He couldn't sleep through all the commotion I was making. I found the most comfort in laying down on my side while Jayson massaged my lower back..

I was positive I was having contractions. The pain was coming and leaving like I remembered and I couldn't breath like I remembered. I finally was able to fall asleep after HOURS of pain and tears.. Only to wake up to more cramping. I went to my OB that morning. I knew something was just not right. When I got in they did an ultrasound and a physical exam...My doctor said the baby looked fine with a good strong heart beat.

But he put me on a prescription to prevent a miscarriage and ordered me to stay off my feet. Anyone with a toddler knows this is no small request. Its not like my sweet little Ty can get his own food and change his own diaper.

So my sweet mother and father came up to check on me...Its safe to say the whole day was full of tears...hearing the words possible miscarriage will shake any pregnant woman up. My little sister and parents really were what got me through the tears that day. Jayson had a full schedule the next few days and couldn't be around much. So Ty and I packed our bags to stay with my parents for a few days...

I was at my parents for two days then Jayson came down and met us there. It was so good to see his face. I missed him so much. The next day after he arrived I went to the bathroom and noticed some spotting. So I freaked out again and we packed our bags to go home. I went to my doctor again the next morning. He just checked the baby and reassured me that the baby looks healthy. Keeping me on my prescription and still recommending me to stay off my feet as much as possible.

Since then I haven't had anymore spotting thank goodness and the cramping has gone down. I am still being careful...but have to stay off my feet when I can. I look forward to my next doctors appointment. I'm only 18 weeks... so not far along enough to feel kicks. So any chance I get to hear the heart beat is amazing!!

As for my little Ty...he is feeling better! No more fever and he is running around with lots of energy! His smiling face defiantly brings more happiness to me. :)

Thanks for your sweet e-mails wondering where I had disappeared to. I will keep posted better on the progress of me and the baby!!

LOVE YOU ALL

MMM#19

Photobucket

HEY LADIES!!!
Welcome to MMM
to learn more about it go HERE...

Like I said in the last mmm
now that im prego most of my Monday posts
will be relating to fitness while pregnant!

Last week I brought up the fact that pregnancy is not an excuse to not work out, but more of an excuse to work out because it will be better for you and your baby. I have been doing really well...now that the weather is getting better and Ty and I can go outside..walk around and get fresh air....I definitely feel better!

One of the exercises doctors recommend to pregnant woman is Aerobics

WALKING
JOGGING
BICYCLING
SWIMMING

These exercises are rhythmic and repetitive while being strenuous enough to demand an increase in oxygen to the muscles. All of these exercises will improve circulation...Decreasing your chances of getting varicose veins, hemorrhoids and fluid retention all common in pregnancy. Reduce back ache...Helping you carry around the extra weight...and build endurance that will come in handy while in delivery.

EATING WHILE PREGNANT

Have you heard the saying "I'm eating for two"?

WELL its one of the most widely held myths about pregnancy.
Actually women should increase their caloric intake by 10 percent.
you're really eating for 1.1.
During your first trimester you only need to be eating
100 extra calories a day. Second about 250 and third 300.
So eating that extra bowl of pasta is because you want it....not because the baby needs it..although sometimes when pregnant you REALLY want it!! hehe and thats ok!:)

I'm definitely not perfect in this area..I know the facts...or at least what the books tell me... about how much weight I should gain and how many extra calories I should be eating...but sometimes when you can't fit your butt into any pants you own...sometimes a cupcake is nice!!

MMM#18 a new kind of motivation

Photobucket

Welcome to MMM
If you are new here and want to know more about it
or want to participate go HERE to find out more!!

So as you all know I am expecting a new little bundle of joy.
So I thought I would turn my own personal MMM posts into a fit and active pregnancy motivation.

Sorry if this will bore you, but its what im going through and I can only blog about what I know!!

SO HERE IT GOES...

SHOULD PREGNANT WOMEN EXERCISES?

Pregnancy is not an illness, we are not to delicate or frail to climb a flight of stairs or to carry a bag of groceries!! Although sometimes the excuse is nice. BUT For a healthy (non high-risk) pregnant woman... moderate physical activity is considered safe and beneficial for not only mothers...but their babies as well...So if your doctor gives you the go ahead and you are perfectly capable of exercise when pregnant DO IT!!!

There are so many health benefits to exercising while pregnant.

You are already going to get fatter and fatter as the months go on...THERE IS NO STOPPING IT...Fat obviously will weigh you down and result in less energy. BUT by exercising you are increasing your daily energy! I totally believe that exercise will help you feel better both physically and mentally. IMPROVE YOUR SLEEPING...Increase endurance (and when labor comes around that will be very nice to have) REDUCE BACKACHES...Help with BLOATING...and many many more...

In later MMM's I will go into more depth about what exercises doctors say are best when pregnant and why...but for now here is a small list

STRETCHING
AEROBICS
CALISTHENICS
MODERATE WEIGHT TRAINING
WATER WORKOUTS
YOGA
RELAXATION TECHNIQUES
PELVIC TONING

It is important to start off slow. Warm ups are always the place to start. You don't want to increase your heart rate to much to fast. Even though you are capable you are still more vulnerable when pregnant so walk before you run and jog slowly in a pool before doing laps.

I hope this post motivates you to be fit and active while pregnant!

Whats motivating you this week?? please share!!
